The Mill Pond Trail is a short 1 block walk down Fifth Avenue heading west. This trail offers a 0.88 mile walk around Austin's Mill Pond that crosses by the Austin Public Library, Austin's Municipal Pool and Park, and the Hormel Plant.

This manmade lake is a 40-acre reservoir that is only three blocks from Webster Apartments. A wonderful trail loops around the lake and leads to a nice park. The park has ample parking if you drive to it and there is a great fishing pier. The park boasts a large pavilion shelter for picnics and gatherings as well as a nice fishing pier.
The Jay C. Hormel Nature Center features over 500 acres of prairie, forests, and wetlands. Keep your eyes and ears open for many kinds of wildlife as you explore the 10+ miles of trails!

The Historic Paramount Theater was built in 1929 as a first run movie house, it is a unique atmospheric theatre with a Spanish motif. Restoration of the Paramount began in 1989. Today, The Austin Area Commission for the Arts presents a full season of performing arts and makes the theater available to the community and artists for private rental.

The City of Austin's 26,800 square feet Library opened in September 1996. It is situated so that it overlooks the historic Mill Pond and is adjacent to Horace Austin Park and the Mill Pond Trail. The library's circulation is over 90,000 volumes which include a wide variety of newspapers, magazines, CD's, and DVD's. The library also features public use of its computers, audio-visual equipment, and is a Free Wi-Fi Hotspot.
